Chapter 28 - Dawn

What the hell was I thinking? When I looked up after I heard Knight’s voice I was frozen. Granted, Ty and I hadn’t done anything but I know I violated Knight’s trust. Last night I knew we were physically a little too close for comfort but I didn’t think his scent rubbed off on me. And the look on Knight’s face when he realized I didn’t draw the lines clear from gate between Ty and I was enough to make me sick.

That nigga looked like he wanted to choke the life out of me but was restraining himself. Before I could even explain or apologize he just went cold. How was I to know they knew each other? How was I to know Ty did business with his middle name as well? I was so upset; I was feeling sick to my stomach. Leaving the restaurant in a hurry, I didn’t even bother returning to the office. Instead I drove over to the one person I knew would have my back. Walking up the stairs of the brownstone, I felt myself becoming a little winded.

Opening the door, I walked in to find CJ holding on the couch taking steps. Flopping myself on the couch next to him I felt CJ climb up and sit in my lap. Kissing my cheek, I smiled, looked down and felt sad. Walking over to me, with a glass of Moscato, Kim took a deep breath in. Looking in my eyes for a second, she took a sip from her glass.

“I don’t know where to start.” Kim laughed.

“Really? How about with Ty? Or the fact that you came home smelling like you was fucking another man! Or the fact that you played Knight something dirty!” Lifting CJ off my lap I stood up and looked at Kim in amazement.

“Well since you know it all why’d I come here?” Kim looked at me and firmly spoke.

“Sit your silly ass down now so we can figure out this shit.” Huffing, I sat back and looked over at Kim as she went off.

“As I recall a couple of months ago, before you two made this shit official someone smelled the scent of another woman on her man and went loco.” Leaning back I thought back to my reaction and smirked but Kim cut my memory short.

“Now you put that nigga through hell and he wasn’t your man. This time it’s different. Knight is your man in every sense of the word. And you’re wrong.” Kim’s words were filled with conviction.

“Kim, I didn’t do anything. First off, I didn’t know Ty was the business partner I was meeting that night. And I didn’t know Knight and he did business either. I’m grown I shouldn’t have to explain myself to no man. So him acting like he did, going off like I was fucking Ty at the table was uncalled for.” I know I may be a little at fault but Knight was being extreme.
